F L I E S ! We are in that season when both you and flies want to do the same thing. Party!!! The problem is that flies can transmit lots of diseases to humans (there are 65 diseases they are known to carry, including TB … but you only need one of those to end …

GUEST POST from Don – Qualified?
QUALIFIED? In this world there are many things for which the “operator” must be qualified. Your surgeon should be (I require it of mine). Your dentist should be (I carefully inspect the wall certificates). The crane operator should be. The airline pilot should be (I wouldn’t have it any other way). Your cruise ship captain, and even both the chef …

GUEST POST from Don – Silly Life-Hacks
SILLY LIFE-HACKS Influencers push influence. Here’s a “hack,” there’s a “hack.” Actually, most “hacks” are recycled ways of doing things from 70 years ago. What makes them “special” now is that they are tied with other concerns, like “how to de-clutter,” or “how to reduce the amount of plastic in the universe.” Trouble is, these things seldom do …

GUEST POST from Don – Kentucky History: The Meat Shower
KENTUCKY HISTORY – THE MEAT SHOWER Only one sample of the mystery meat remains. It sits in a glass bottle of alcohol at the Monroe Moosnick Medical and Science Museum at Transylvania University in Lexington, Kentucky. Meat from heaven? Manna? Nope. Best guess, by several knowledgeable people, experienced in the weirdness of nature, is that a passing kettle …

FIRES & HEALTH Did you know that NEARLY HALF of residential fires are caused by the kitchen range? What are the issues with that device which make it so likely to cause a fire? GREASE. The number one cause is greases and oils (either in the oven or on the stove top). Let’s think, “What is the …

GUEST POST from Don – Half The Story
HALF THE STORY The Smithsonian Magazine recently engaged in fear mongering: “Gas Stoves Are Poisoning Americans by Releasing Toxic Fumes Associated With Asthma and Lung Cancer.” In the article they quote a co-author, Robert Jackson, of a study on gas stoves, “We’ve spent billions of dollars cleaning up our air outdoors and nothing to clean up …

GUEST POST from Don – Global Warming Re-Imagined (Again)
GLOBAL WARMING RE-IMAGINED (AGAIN) Popular Mechanics, a left-leaning publication, had this headline recently: “Earth’s Disastrous 10th Tipping Point Has Been Identified.” Seriously? The earth NEEDS another “tipping point?” Aside from the humor, considering the earth is basically a BALL … there is no “tipping point.” If the earth were a table it COULD have a tipping point. (Before you respond …

GUEST POST from Don – The God of Miriam, Job, and Joel
THE GOD OF MIRIAM, JOB AND JOEL…Three lessons about God. MIRIAM’S GOD A friend from church told about her acquaintance in another state. The older acquaintance is a strong follower of Christ and lives that way, being that she doesn’t hide or apologize for it. A few years ago Miriam had a chance to buy a …

GUEST POST from Don – As It Turns Out
AS IT TURNS OUT More and more evidence is coming to the fore that shows that Americans have been greatly mislead about many things. (If it were only ONE thing, I think we could let it go…right?) SCIENCE IS NOT “SCIENTIFIC” As it turns out strange things, which do not make a bit of sense, are …
