“I’M NOT BROKE!” “I still have a credit card app on my phone, so I’m not broke!” Our online society has many tools to deal with finance that were not available last generation. Yet, the current generation is so financially screwed they don’t know where their next i-Phone is coming from. A few generations ago, caught …

GUEST POST from Don – National Debt
NATIONAL DEBT Every time a committee gets to spend other people’s money it wastes incredible amounts of it. Worse, almost every time voters get to vote on increasing a local school tax they pass it. The worst is how easily a family slides into overwhelming credit card debt. We want things and we won’t be denied …

GUEST POST from Don – Fake Math
FAKE MATH We wish we didn’t have to Fact-Check the Media. Unfortunately, math is one of the most common ways that Media misreports. On one day I found more fake math media examples than I can report in a regulation-sized post… The following samples are for your amusement: One article said that the car owner’s fuel cost per …

GUEST Post from Don – The Cheese in the Mousetrap
THE CHEESE in the MOUSETRAP Some reading the following will see politics, but you won’t find it in my head. This is how I view logic. Find the causes and the results. “Tax the rich” is the bait. GUEST POST from Don – Life Is Hard?
LIFE IS HARD? Of course, if you have never researched the past, nor lived it … the current stream of events seems “hard” (by which you actually mean “uncomfortable.”) Some writers seem intent on telling us how “hard” things are. But I lived through Carter, Ford, and Obama. Things were much harder then. We were told under Obama …

GUEST POST from Don – The Price of Tech
The PRICE of TECH Of course, with a vengeance the media is covering the struggle some families are experiencing with grocery prices. This, in spite of the fact that 3-4% inflation is well within the normal range. Of course, with a vengeance the media is covering the decision to drop the special COVID-induced support for Obamacare. It …

GUEST POST from Don – Out Of Touch+
OUT OF TOUCH + It is absolutely OK to be out of touch with everything but people. You don’t need to know anything about “GEN Who?”You don’t need to know the latest slang. You don’t need to know who won some game, or what TV show is “hot.”You don’t even need to know technology, how to …

GUEST POST from Don – Longevity (part II)
LONGEVITY (Part II) As I mentioned, I was introduced to this topic because of an article I mentioned in the post called “Hoarding?” This explains why THAT article was so far off base. So, genetics plays a much larger role in longevity than scientists once imagined. Nevertheless, in the USA people ARE living a few years longer …
