Today was lovely! It was only about 60 at the highest but the sun was bright and the colors were stunning! As it turns out, on this lot there is very little variety of color, but the yellows and golds of the birches are brilliant in the sunshine! There are also shades of green, of course, and the reddish-brown and browns of the oaks. Also, our lovely bracken ferns have gone to sleep for the winter – always a sure sign that winter is coming. Here are some photos:

Our main meal today was delicious! I had bought some mixed-color julienned carrots the other day, and I sauteed them with onion slivers until the onions were browning. Then I added a few raisins, and seasoned with turmeric, cinnamon, ginger, garlic, paprika, chili powder, and S&P, plus some water (we were out of vegetable broth), and let it simmer, covered, for about 30 minutes, then uncovered for another 15 or so, adding oat milk and some xanthan gum for thickening.
Pete had his over brown rice and quinoa. I had a small service with a piece of leftover steak.
It was one of the few meals I make that we both can eat, with him being mostly-dairy-free pescatarian, and me being low carb.

After eating we enjoyed a fire outside for a while.

I had to share this picture of my gorgeous daughter that she sent me this morning…couldn’t help it, she’s stunning!
Very interesting meal….looks yummy….and yes Casey is very beautiful woman….Pete is blessed to have you as you are him….you both compliment each other….:-)….Debbie
We were definitely meant to be together, Pete and I…a literal match made in heaven. Casey is stunning, and she’s become quite an expert in makeup too! (Golly I’ve missed you!)
