  1. Good video. I think you are right. The Toms wait for me to come home if I am gone or wait for me to come out of the RV and hoping I will throw food out for them. I usually tell them to come and get some food and out the come from wherever they were hiding. They trust me more and more everyday and they don’t get spooked by me moving around.
The turkeys sure have done some strange things and funny things. Makes us wonder what is going through their minds. It is amazing how high they can fly. I saw one fly up into a Jack Pine – about 50 feet high and it flew up to almost the top.

    1. They really do amuse me, I get such a kick out of them. This spring when there were so many displaying and sparring we’d never seen them do that before. And I love the babies but the moms are understandably nervous now :(…I get that. I was so awestruck the first time I saw turkeys fly, when we were living in Houghton Lake and that big flock was feeding in our front yard, then they all took off and flew to the west and I was pretty much gobsmacked. I knew they could fly but didn’t realize they could fly so beautifully!

    2. I’m glad the turkeys are comfortable with you, and look for you even. They’re ok with me when (a) I’m not too close, and (b) I don’t move at all…barely breathe LOL!
