The PoiBoiz (my poicephalus parrots for those who don’t know) are on a table in the corner of the living room where they can throughout the main areas of the house: the whole living room, through the kitchen, and down the hallway to the back door. And they like keeping track of everything that goes on and commenting. They love being part of the action!
We don’t have a fenced yard yet, so when Maisie has to go outside we clip the long rope to her harness and open the door, standing just inside holding the other end. From the day I got her in 2018 I have used a clicking sound I make with my tongue, and the words, “Gotta go pee pee?” then I click while she’s squatting, and tell her “Good pee pee!” afterward. Previously we were in the country and we just opened the door to let the dogs out, then stood out there with them while they did their thing. Now, however, the boiz are privy to these little conversations…
