VIDEO: He Loved Me With A Cross

Musical offering for Good Friday
As played on my Yamaha Tyros5-76

As always, this is to share with my friends, not a performance. But I hope you enjoy it anyway!
“If you seek perfection, look elsewhere.” ~ Chiafucius

He left a throne in heaven
To come to Bethlehem
And I will not forget the way
He loved me even then
And everywhere He traveled
He spoke with words of love
That said He’d go to any distance
To show what I was worthy of
And when at last the dusty road
Had turned to Calvary
He picked up a rugged burden
So that one day I would see

He loved me with a cross
He loved me with a cross
In answer to the call of love
He loved me with a cross
Oh, I could not imagine what
Loving me would cost
My Jesus went to Calvary
And loved me with a cross

He knew from the beginning
The price He’d have to pay
For my heart had gone so far beyond
What other loves forgave
I wasn’t on that hillside
To see Him on the tree
But as my guilt was placed upon Him
I know that somehow
Somehow He saw me

He loved me with a cross
He loved me with a cross
In answer to the call of love
He loved me with a cross
Oh, I could not imagine what
Loving me would cost
My Jesus went to Calvary
And loved me with a cross

And I would be a sinner still
Enslaved by all my sin
If it had not been for Jesus
And the way He loved me then

He loved me with a cross
He loved me with a cross
In answer to the call of love
He loved me with a cross
Oh, I could not imagine what
Loving me would cost
My Jesus went to Calvary
And loved me with a cross

Absolutely beautiful! Your playing is soothing and a wonderful praise to Him!
And your set up is spectacular. Could you have imagined such technology 40 years ago? When I was banging away on an old stand-up church piano 40 years ago, I could not have imagined the technology of today. ?

    1. SAME!!! I think back to all of the pianos I’ve played over the years and thought they were wonderful…and they were, for that time. Starting with my first arranger workstation keyboard – a Yamaha PSR-9000Pro – I often burst into tears at what comes out, I get so carried up in the emotion that I can’t even contain it, it is almost too much. This type of expression was never possible with our old stand-up church pianos :).

  2. What a gorgeous song, and beautifully performed Sherry. Such an inspiration. I followed along with the words and was even more blessed. Everything is well-balanced now and your hands are perfectly positioned on the screen. Thank you ever so much for sharing your God-given talents with us. Such a rich, Rich, RICH blessing!!!

    1. Thank you dear Annette! It was a Larnell Harris song, so I never would have heard it if I hadn’t seen it and fallen in love with the lyrics! I played it as I felt it in my heart before I ever went online to hear his original :). Those words really REALLY blow me away, and I have had it running through my head almost nonstop too…it is really a joy to use our blessings in His work, isn’t it! SO glad He uses me to bless you (and others)!!! Happy Easter!!!
