Thirteen Thursday Thoughts – Feb. 24, 2022 Edition

#1 – I LOVE SNOW, and guess what?

I alone escaped to tell you…
❄️❄️❄️it’s SNOWING!❄️❄️❄️

(I found this adorable photo on Gab, I think, and helped myself to it!)

#2 – With all that’s now going on in the world, the ONLY thing we absolutely have to remember: God has a plan for His creation, there is nothing that happens that He didn’t know about, or isn’t in that plan. Praying for His will to be done – for His plan to unfold, on earth as it is in heaven – needs to be our priority…and, hand-in-hand, asking for wisdom and clear guidance as we pray about our own place and work within it all. Always according to His will. Not ours.

#3 – As I continue to think on these things…I am also thankful that He is a Father who listens and cares about our hearts through all this – including our fears. We not only can, but should, bring everything to Him in prayer. “Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time, casting all your cares on Him, for He cares for you.” 1Peter 5:7 (See that “therefore”? That’s a cue to look up the previous verses for context!)

#4 – There are certain catchwords and phrases that get old, real quick! Even so, I need to be more “intentional” about checking in (at the least) and participating in (ideally) each of my social media platforms daily. Most days, at least. Time for a list!

#5 – We just got a phone call from Leelan, our 12YO grandson, with some GREAT NEWS!!! He made our day, our week, and probably our month, we are so proud of him we could BUST! His mom and dad are really happy too…he’s come a long way, that boy…(If I get his permission I will tell you what his news is, won’t leave you hanging if I can help it! Watch my News & Updates!)

#6 – Yesterday I was “down” for the rest of the evening after spending 10 minutes in the kitchen on dinner. This continuing loss of mobility is really trying my patience now, so I am DETERMINED, no matter the cost (that’s dramatic, isn’t it!), to make myself some creamy chicken soup tonight! It’s been 20 hours since I ate my OMaD yesterday so I can start as soon as I get hungry!

#7 – Speaking of OMaD, I’m kind of excited about the new page! I have truly missed my old Cheap Easy Low Carb YouTube channel…of course I don’t post on YouTube anymore, and our tiny RV kitchen doesn’t really allow for making videos, so this is a compromise but a fun one!

#8 – Had a very long and enjoyable text chat with Gwen last night, I sure miss her! We probably have seen Gwen & Don almost as much since they moved to KY as we did when they were only 100 miles away, though somehow it’s not the same. But chatting and phone calls and exchanging pictures and stuff really does help! Thank God for sisters!

#9 – Speaking of which I’m enjoying text chatting with Heidi who is one of my dearest friends. She lives in the greater Chicago area and we’ve visited each other back and forth numerous times over the years, but it’s been about a year and a half since I’ve seen her, so I look forward to our chats and emails. Thank God for such friends!

#10 – Today I have such an amazing sense of well-being from the Lord! Yes, it surely is from him, I’ve all but lost my ability to walk without assistance and am in constant and oftentimes severe pain, the world is pressing in on us with all of its issues and pressures and sin which of course can be very upsetting, my husband has cancer and so many that I love aren’t walking in obedience to Christ…I could go on and on but THIS, my friends, is how “Joy in the Lord” works. Worldly cares from the outside can’t rob us of what the Holy Spirit fills us with on the inside – love, joy, peace, and hope in Jesus!

#11 – Super-amazed that though I’ve only had 5 hours of sleep after 21 hours of wakefulness, and haven’t eaten in 21 hours (hey! I see a pattern developing here!) I am neither sleepy nor hungry. Must be livin’ on love! 😍

#12 – Cardinals (the feathered kind, not the religious kind) are at their most beautiful when doing anything against the backdrop of virgin snow.

#13 – It is almost my favorite time of day when the sun goes down, the dogs join me on the bed, I’m winding up my work and shutting down my laptop, and Pete and I sit down together to watch some TV with our dandelion tea until sleep.

I hope you’ve enjoyed these thoughts as came to me throughout the day. Enjoy your evening and I will see you tomorrow for Friday Funnies!
