March 11 – The yard area behind our yard after a night of very heavy rainfall. A couple of hours earlier our back yard (inside the fence) had also been flooded.

March 11 – These are the containers that I got at the thrift store in which to re-pot some of them. And if I have extra containers, well, I guess I’ll just have to get more plants! 🤷♀️

March 11 – Finally, this is something I received in my messages today:
I absolutely LOVE when you post pictures of your personal life and its contents. The little planters you got from the thrift store are really pretty (and some ‘cute’). I also enjoyed just seeing what each person ordered for their breakfast. Such a variety of ‘choices’ among the family. Thank you for these pictures! I enjoyed them so much! (Tell Pete that I’m so sorry for the loss of his good friend, and give him my sincere condolences.)
I love sharing them also. Much of the winter has been the same things over and over again (sleeping, not leaving home) so I didn’t often have fresh pictures. I am consciously trying to change that, as well as share single photos with my updates, like on-the-spot ones, a few times a week. Anyway, I got the yellow planters to use with my succulents (present or future) that have red or pink colors in them, and I was looking for – but didn’t find – any with a sweet pink or gentle red with which to plant those with yellow colors in them. (The warm tones of sunrise/sunset color combinations always make me happy!) We all had great meals, Luna had been sick the day before and hadn’t slept well that night, so she wasn’t at her best, and her mom said “eggs and toast” only; Luna only had a few bites, then was ready for a nap. But she enjoyed shopping in the Cracker Barrel store with her brother and that made it worth the trip for her! (Pete said thank you very much.) I hope your weather is pretty to look at but not destructive this weekend!
That’s a beautiful gift from Zoey. How thoughtful of her to think of you in such a special way. And OF COURSE I love your Maisie girl. Such a miracle given to you. I hope your weather there is reasonable and not FEET of the white stuff, and I also hope you are prepared just in case, so you don’t run-out of critical necessities. I send my love.
Yes I was so thrilled and touched by my gift, Zoey is just darling and I enjoy her company as well as the great work she does. And Maisie loves her too, the first thing Zoey – who is a crazy dog lover like me – does is brush out Maisie when she gets here. When Maisie thinks she’s done she will start to walk away and I say, “Maisie go to Zoey” and goes right back to stand in front of her (though not without giving me a side-eye hahaha!). Zoey has a dog named Bo-Jack so we talk about our dogs a lot. Yes, so far our weather is reasonable, we only got a couple of inches last night and it is melting away already. Not sure what the 2nd storm starting tomorrow will bring but the 1st one wasn’t much trouble. We have noticed we often get a lot less than Casey’s family and they’re only a few miles away. We are all set, usually all winter, with our generator and full gas cans, the solar generator (Ecoflow) topped off and contingency plans if necessary. But first and foremost we have our Shepherd Who cares for His sheep right? Love to you as well, dear Annette!
