It was a delightful surprise when I learned that Thursday fell on May 15 because May 15th is a special day in my heart. On May 15, 2081 Captain DonKirk was born. I didn’t know it, of course, until several months later when I met him and his mom at a local county fair in Ohio. Through a series of events, a few weeks later a horse trailer backed into the driveway and a little fuzzy baby donkey was led off and brought up to me as a gift…I was shocked! My friend, who owned the little hobby farm where I was renting a room, had her own horse, and I owned a little dun filly and a couple of wethers at the time, and Donk fit right in…and that was my introduction to the world of donkeys!

I could share a whole lot more about those days, and the rest of Donk’s story, but I’d rather share about cool donkey stuff…enjoy!
