Advent 2021 – Discovering Love – Dec. 5

So we do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day. For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal.

2 Corinthians 4:16-18

Today’s Advent readings:
Crosswalk – Turning Christmas Chaos Into Christmas Joy
Meet Him At The Manger – Visiting Made Real

BONUS READINGS for Second Sunday:
Crosswalk – Second Sunday Reading
In Him Only Blog – Behold, The Man

The Christmas Chaos article deals with the very difficult theme of depression during the holidays that cause pain for so many. No article or post can remedy this for these people, but the author turns the reader toward Jesus as part of their answer, while today’s Scripture passage offers hope for those who suffer so. The Visiting post ends with a lovely poem about “Dawn in my darkness” that fits in so beautifully!

The time spent with Him in prayer and the Word and readings such as these is never wasted, and is quite possibly the most valuable time spent in my days!
