As I know I will be busy for the next couple of days I am posting the final 2 Songs of the Season a little early. May your Christmas be holy, reverent, and awe-some as you remember the Creator of the universe putting on flesh and coming to live among us, to show us the way back to Himself.
…the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid! For behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people: Today in the city of David a Savior has been born to you. He is Christ the Lord! And this will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in swaddling cloths and lying in a manger.”…
Jesus said to him, “Have I been so long with you, and yet you have not come to know Me, Philip? He who has seen Me has seen the Father…”
Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”
“I came that they may have life and have it abundantly. I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.”
Dec. 25: O Holy Night – Mercy Me
“Set to the timeless and beautiful song O Holy Night as performed by MercyMe. This film combines the prophetic foresight of Old Testament scripture and the confirming New Testament narrative about the circumstances of Jesus’s birth.”
Dec. 24: Jesus All For Jesus (Christmas Lyrics) – Jeff Ling
Brilliant! And extremely well-done! Perfect for Christmas Eve!
Dec. 23: From Heaven Above to Earth I Come
This isn’t a video, well, not as the others are. But you can follow the link where From Heaven Above To Earth I Come – written by Martin Luther – will be played, and the lyrics follow the music. But it isn’t something I can embed here as most of the others. Once you are at the site you can click the play triangle down in the lower left corner, and follow it from there. It is a good traditional Christmas song, so I included it anyway.
Dec. 22: Hark! Sing-Along – Renew Church
Just plain folk, like you and me, celebrating the newborn King!
Dec. 21: The Sailor’s Christmas Carol
This one is different but it really touched my heart! “Sailors celebrating Christmas away from home”
Dec. 20: Carol of The Bells – Lily Topolski
I had to share another of hers…not only because of the song – but because she is brilliant!
Dec. 19: God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen – Geoff Castellucci
Dec. 18: I Wanna Shelter Pet for Christmas – AWLQAC
This is a promotional video for the Animal Welfare League of Queen Anne’s County and I had to include it because it is SO CUTE! They did a great job with this one!
Dec. 17: New Christmas Songs – Buckhead Church
A hysterical medley of songs written for special circumstances, cracked me up!
Dec. 16: Happy Birthday Jesus (song)
from Christmas at The Brooklyn Tabernacle, a really beautiful slide show put to the music!
Dec. 15: Happy Birthday Jesus (A Child’s Prayer) – Patti Page
This is a classic!
Dec. 14: Back To Christmas – Lawson Bates
The music starts about 35 seconds into the video.
Dec. 13: The Angel Gabriel – Sean Kelly
This is from The Christmas Guitar series, there is no moving video but it is on a video site. At any rate the music is beautiful and I hope that I can share another of Sean Kelly’s pieces before Christmas!
Dec. 12: Sing We Now of Christmas Medley – Lily Topolski
I included another one of hers below, but I love her playing so much that I wanted to include another!
Dec. 11: Christmas Time
This is something a little different but kinda cool, so I included it.
Dec. 10: Long Ago Prophets Knew
An organ instrumental recording complete with an introduction and full lyrics of the Advent hymn “Long Ago Prophets Knew”, set to the tune known as “Personent Hodie”.
Dec. 9: Mary Did You Know – JP
Because this is an amazing, beautiful, meaningful Christmas song, it gets played a LOT at Christmas. (Yes, I confess I’ve been known to yell at the radio, “Yes, she knows already!”) But JP is a rock singer – I verified it by checking out his website – and the tenderness with which he sings this song has given it a new heart. Fantastic!
Dec. 8: Politically Incorrect CHRISTmas Song – The Moron Brothers
If you haven’t heard of the The Moron Brothers you are missing out on some very talented Christian brothers who do music and comedy, with the message of the gospel always woven through. I used to watch them on YouTube so was thrilled to find them on Rumble! Anyway, here’s something a little lighter for today.
Dec. 7: How Far Is It To Bethlehem, Not Very Far?
A piano instrumental recording with full lyrics of the Christmas carol “How far is it to Bethlehem, not very far?” set to the tune Stowey which is often associated with the hymn “When a knight won his spurs in the stories of old”.
Dec. 6: Go, Tell It On The Mountain – Singing GYssem
I chose this one because of its simplicity, the message is in the lyric rather than excessive instrumentation and vocals. Also, the photo is beautiful!
Dec. 5: O Come O Come Emmanuel – For King and Country
Sticking with the theme from yesterday, here is a fresh and beautiful rendition of this classic Advent song! Again, no embed code, but you can get there from HERE.
Dec. 4: Come Emmanuel – Bryan Bolister
This video, for some reason, won’t embed and I don’t know how to fix the problem, but here is the link, and trust me, it will be worth the extra click!
Dec. 3: We Wish You A Merry Christmas Dance Song Choreography | Christmas Dance Crew
This is a fun one for the kids, I posted it early in the month so if you have – or know – children who might want to learn the moves before Christmas, there will be time for them to do that.
Dec. 2: Dan D Dirges – I Saw Three Ships
Dec. 1: Lily Topolski – Angels from the Realms of Glory Medley (Official Music Video)
