The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.

Today’s Advent readings:
Crosswalk – Christmas Lights
Meet Him At The Manger – The Visit
Both of these have in common that they were interesting reading throughout. But it was the last bit in each that gave me pause. In The Visit, especially…He came to settle in…and yet, as the Christmas Lights reading talks about, I often am tempted – and too often give in to – the desire to push Him out of the way so that I can make life easier. That’s my takeaway.
I want to add to this that God used music to make my heart ready today. I was led, almost as if by the hand, through various “paths” to listen to a song that brought me to tears as it opened my heart to His call and His love, and readied me to take in the messages of the readings. (If you are interested in hearing it, the song that God used is Glorious (Christian Nuckels) .)
I already shared my very personal mission for this advent season. And my Father has me in the palm of His hand as He leads me through it.
