Advent 2021 – Discovering Love – Dec. 12

For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal. ~ 2Corinthians 4:17-18

Today’s Advent readings:
Crosswalk – The Man Who Tried To Stop Christmas
Meet Him At The Manger – The Shepherds: Least and Lost

“It’s almost as if God were going out of His way to say, ‘Listen, we know that people of privilege expect privilege. It’s the underprivileged who never expect anything, so I’m going to aim at them. I’m going to give them the privilege of playing a leading role in My redemptive plan.'” Jill Briscoe

“The Savior has come, and He has come for you!” Pastor Jeff Schreve

Third Sunday reading. One of my favorite blogs is In Him Only, and Rich’s Sunday posts during Advent I find particularly meaningful! Rather than a separate post, I will include a link to Behold, The King! here.

  1. I remember a catch phrase used by Amway many years ago – Give to the greedy – not the needy. Apparently, the greedy would run with their products and make more money. The needy couldn’t afford to run with the big dogs.

In contrast, Jesus said it was the needy who would come to Him while the greedy would not give up their possessions and money for Jesus. Jesus said it was the sick who needed healing and the lost sheep He came to bring back.

    Just something to think about.
