These are a few songs I was playing today as I meditated on the meaning of Good Friday and what Jesus endured for us…
Remember: “If you seek perfection, look elsewhere.” ~ Chiafucius
Today, in a discussion with a group of men, the significance of the cross of Christ was discussed. Two takeaways:
1) My sin was put upon Him on the cross (as was the sin of the whole world). In that moment, He lost his otherwise constant connection with His Father. “My God, why hast Thou forsaken me!” He was alone without His Father.
2) Because it was the Passover, his body was not prepared for burial, nor could mourners gather. He was alone without those who loved Him on earth.
But thank God for the Resurrection where ALL connection was truly “built back” perfectly. Neither politics nor government could do that. Business could not do that. Charities could not do that. ONLY God could and He did.
