Given the state of the world today I find great comfort in seeking out Biblical promises about the future. Yes, things will get a lot worse than they are now…but God gives His children – those of us who have chosen to follow Him through faith in Jesus – promises that we can rely on regarding the end of the present world, and an eternity with Him. While I’m no scholar, I have eyes, I have the Holy Spirit, and I can read. While, as I always say, we have to look at the context without fail…it’s about the Words that I love, bringing the context to my mind and heart as they remind me that this isn’t all there is, that God already has things worked out and nothing can stop His plan! So these are some verses that I consider when I look at what is going on in this temporary world, what the future will hold, and with Whom I will spend my eternity when the sufferings of life here have passed.
