Gab. Again.

“Don’t believe everything you read” is a truism that has served me well over the years. But apparently there are a lot of people who think every word in print – or pixels – has the same weight as those carved in stone by the very hand of God!

So let’s revisit the gab community. I’m a member there, not an expert as I’ve only been using it for about 6 months +/-, but familiar enough that I can share my experiences with confidence in their validity.

I won’t go into all of the deception about gab that is out there, shared as truth by people who only look for what they want to find. And, anytime there is freedom to share our thoughts and beliefs openly, you will find anything. Which is a VERY different thing from the claim that gab is a violent and profane site, just because a portion of its users share thoughts and beliefs – sometimes with vulgarity and irreverence – with which you don’t agree.

In this cancel culture there are those that believe this is a fair way to assess a site.

Obviously, I do not.

The greatest value that gab has for me personally is that it is a kind and gentle and beautiful place to spend time with lovely decent people.

“WHAT?!?!?!?!? But that’s not what I’ve heard!!!”

I often say that gab is what you want it to be.

If you want to rant about about everything that offends you, gab is it.

If you want to exchange pictures of your pet cat and talk about her latest antics, meow-gab.

If you want to spend your days looking for conspiracies – theoretic or fact-based – go to gab.

If you want to find the truths that the media doesn’t tell us, gab has it.

If you want to meet patriotic people who love America and what it has always represented, they’re at gab.

If you’re looking to learn about, and discuss, widely varying points of view about anything, they’re all represented at gab.

If you want to make friends to share gardening, cooking, cleaning hacks, and other home arts, you’ll make them at gab.

If you want to share music you play, photos you took, books you wrote, pictures you painted with others who share these talents, gab’s the place.

If you want to see the beauty of life through the eyes of a saint, pray with a fellow believer, or study the Bible…you can do it at gab.

If memes, jokes, and cartoons are your thing, gab is a very funny place to be.

Surprised? Don’t be. The truth these days isn’t found in the places we’ve always looked for it.

Find it at gab.

    1. Anybody who believes everything they hear lives life in a haze of misinformation and doesn’t have go to gab for that šŸ˜‰. Though my point wasn’t that it’s reader’s responsibility to sift through the information they take in – which is, or should be, a given – maybe another good addition to my list would be that if we’re looking for truth OR misinformation you’ll find it at gab? Truly, whatever you’re looking for, you’ll find it on gab! And thanks for stopping by šŸ˜Š
