Musical March – March 12, 2025 Edition

Today I was going to do a keyboard/baritone ukulele duet, and I recorded an audio backing file of the keyboard part earlier today. However, after a couple of fruitless hours, I couldn’t get the balance between the two sounding good. So I gave up. My beautiful uke with its new mellow strings sounded dull and “thuddy”, and that wasn’t satisfactory to my ears, either; I may have to invest in a 2nd microphone for that. But it was FUN! :). Anyway, I recorded a video of the keyboard part instead because it’s a cool song and so much fun to play!

1 Living below in this old sinful world,
Hardly a comfort can afford;
Striving alone to face temptation sore,
Where could I go but to the Lord?
[Refrain]

2 Neighbors are kind, I love them ev’ry one,
We get along in sweet accord;
But when my soul needs manna from above,
Where could I go but to the Lord? [Refrain]

3 Life here is grand with friends I love so dear,
Comfort I get from God’s own word;
Yet when I face the chilling hand of death,
Where could I go but to the Lord?
[Refrain]

Refrain:
Where could I go? Oh, where could I go
Seeking a refuge for my soul?
Needing a friend to save me in the end,
Where could I go but to the Lord?

As always, this is to share with my friends, not a performance. But I hope you enjoy it anyway!

  1. Loved it as usual. I actually knew the tune, buried deep within my brain. Thank you for the musical blessing.
