Thursday Thoughts – April 6, 2023 Edition

At this time of year I have a constant sense in my heart of Jesus’ last week on earth…today thinking about His last supper with His disciples, His betrayal, His anguish knowing what was come in just hours…I can’t imagine any man who could endure what He did, out of love for us. I can’t fathom that kind of love at all. I keep thinking, “If only people KNEW!”

One thing that I notice – everywhere – is how many people have become hostile to those who don’t view life like they do. When did differing opinions and ideas become so threatening? Is it now a “thing” that everyone must be the same as everyone else?

Pete was so surprised that the doctor’s office was maskless today – finally!

I’m thinking I will do some invitations and hand them out personally for my party. I will be 66 this year, and am having a pig roast – catered by my beloved son-in-law who is EXCELLENT at it! – for all friends, neighbors, and family who wish to attend. (If you haven’t been invited yet, it’s because I didn’t get invitations yet! If we speak frequently in person, however, you probably already know about it) Since it will be happening a month from today – the 6th – I am now starting to get more excited about it!

Chuy is almost done with his meds and I am SO GLAD! He hates the medicine and it is a Big Deal to give it to him twice a day, we’re all usually covered with it by the time we’re done, and he’s ready to fight while we’re completely wiped out from the experience. OK, that’s an exaggeration. But it’s how it seems. Just 2 more doses…

Our almost-14YO grandson has his birthday on Good Friday this year. I was there when he was born (when all of my grands were born, actually) and I’m reliving memories, as I do on every birthday including their mom’s! I’m guessing we all do…these were momentous days of miracles!

Speaking of Leelan, his birthday is the start of the Family Birthday Season which started April 7 and ends Dec. 29th.

I have always loved winter best. But since we went on the road in 2015 I have started to enjoy the warmer (not hot!) times of year too. I was never one to want to be outside. But at that same time I started enjoying time outdoors. And now, this year, will be my first garden…I just don’t know myself anymore!
