Wednesday Wags – June 17, 2026…Chuy Edition*

*In a couple of hours we will be taking our little Chuy to the vet for the last time. He has all-but-lost his hearing and sight, and has painful (and expensive) dental issues. He has had heart problems for the last few years, and his heart cough is now very frequent…he’s had a seizure disorder for the last year, and he reacted badly to the medicine that could have controlled it, so the seizures are getting worse, causing him to fall more; he’s falling off of furniture almost daily, and struggles to jump back up. And lastly, he is passing blood which started with a few drops within the last week, and now that’s all that he passes; though he still loves to eat, this morning his breakfast came right back up. He started having bloating a couple of days ago, and stretching (a sign of abdominal pain). For a 12YO dog, he’s had enough. We can’t stand to watch him continue to decline, or suffer the increasing pain he is in, most of which can’t be cured. It is time.
