Only one selection today, this hymn reaches my heart in so many ways. The weekend has been a struggle as I grieve for my dearest friend, Christian sister…she’s meant more to me than I have words to share and I will miss her terribly. At the same time, I know that she has been looking forward to spending eternity with her beloved Lord and Savior, as she has expressed to me over and over again. That’s where she is right now and there is no way – even if I could – deny her that just to ease my own grief. This hymn, I believe, speaks to all of that. I haven’t been able to get through the recording of it without many tears, which someday God Himself will put in a bottle, and there will be no more. Meanwhile, accept this for what it is, an imperfectly attempt to express the perfection that was my deep friendship with Annette.
