Living in the City – GLORIA!
We are living in our newly purchased (Oct 15, 2024) house Gloria now and a new chapter has begun. If you are interested in the story of why we left the country for the city and the events around our move, click HERE. Previous updates will remain below and continue here; I simply started a new section for our lives moving forward from now.
Feb 28, 2026 – We haven’t made any changes to Gloria or a while, but yesterday “we” (Emma for what I’ll be sharing today) did and of course I wanted to share them! Jared also did a ton of work outside, which I will share on another day.

Dec 2, 2025 – Jared & Emma came today and unpacked, assembled, and put up (and out) our Christmas decorations!! So pretty and festive in here now, and we are thrilled!!!
Nov 28, 2025 – Another rearrange. This time was necessary. As much as I love sitting near by PoiBoiz, they’ve picked up some very shrill shrieking from neighborhood birds and I just coudln’t stand it anymore. The birds like their new/old spot better though, so they can see what’s going on in most of the house. AND, finally, they’re moved away from the front door and so won’t keep getting a blast of cold air whenever door is opened.
I really like having a nice living/seating/visiting area, as we had it last time, and wanted to keep that feeling. Now, I have my birds and my music area at one end of the long/narrow room, and the living room at the other. It all feels right. Plus Chuy has a cozy spot from which to view the neighborhood which is a bonus for him! The photos will tell the story!
Nov 7, 2025 – There haven’t been many changes until recently but J&E did a great yard cleanup, then Gregg & Zoey did a fantastic job on the lawn; we should be all set until spring as far as all of that goes! We still have a few little bits to finish up on but this is how Gloria’s yard looks now!
Oct 4, 2025 – Below is a video showing our new chairs, and how we made everything fit in. I like it so much! There is more furniture in the room, but the layout is so nice, even looks more open, AND with an actual defined sitting area! Thank you Casey & Luna for all of your help❣️❣️
Sept 26-27, 2025 – On Friday the 26th J&E and Pete & I went to a local nursery to find some of the plants I wanted to put in this autumn. When we got back J&E spent the rest of the afternoon planting them, putting up some autumn decorations, cleaning up my vines and other garden plants that were starting to die off, and planting a ton of bulbs for spring (not shown – hahaha). I’m especially excited about the different kinds of grasses I was able to purchase on clearance! They’re winding down for the winter now and aren’t very impressive but come spring they should start growing and adding some softness to the area – I’ve wanted grasses for a long time, as well as the shrubs down at the bottom of the driveway! Anyway, the photos below show all of the changes as a result as well as how some of the plants have changed since you last saw them.
Sept 13, 2025 – I was able to get back out and work a little bit in the garden again, and collect more squash, cukes, peppers and tomatoes with Pete’s help. Here are a few photos I took of peppers, dying vines, and marigolds.
Sept 6, 2025 – I haven’t been able to get out and work on my garden much this summer since my accident, let alone every day (as I did last year), so today when I was able to get out there for a while and do some tidying up it was a real joy! Pete also went out and worked with me. The first set of pictures were the ones I took when I first went outside. The second set were all taken after it had started raining and we were on our way in the house, and are in no particular order.
August 29, 2025 – Leelan and Charlie came and helped Pete organize everything that was just piled in the yard in the photos below. Now it is neatly put in its new (temporary) home!
August 25, 2025 – We’ve had helpers here doing a bunch of changes – some small but impactful and helpful, and some bigger. J&E, and Charlie & Gregg all worked here on Friday (Aug 22) to accomplish all of what you see below.
We are pretty pleased with how things are going and how much stuff is getting done, thanks to our helpers!
August 21, 2025 – After being home-bound (and mostly bed-bound) for a couple of weeks I ventured outside with my camera. Things were quite different from when I’d last seen them! Below are some photos I took on my first couple of days out of the house.
July 27, 2025 – On Friday (the 25th) Emma (Lyra and I helped) rearranged the living room again. I love doing that every so often, you can see previous arrangement from March 1st (really?!? It’s been THAT long?!?). And here are some photos of the new one:
July 17, 2025 (again) – Just a few close-ups I took while out in the garden today…
July 17, 2025 – 4 of my most precious gifts, now hung in places of prominence! My sister Gwen painted the first one for Pete, who served in the Security Police in the USAF. Daughter Casey/family gave us the cast iron Welcome Owl key hanger. Bestie Heidi gave me the friendship plaque on the left, and dearest friend Annette gave us the Michigan cutting board. And Gwen created the pink and yellow floral painting for me!
We still have a box of wall art and photos to hang, and I know where I want them…just not sure I can make them look like I’d like – random, but in an organized way. 🤔
July 15, 2025 – And THIS is what our son-in-law Bill has been building for the last couple of days! From scratch, no kits, no cheap lattice, good solid cedar…
And he has solved a BIG problem for us: Chuy! He has slipped past people and run out our front door on several occasions, even taking off down the street. Like a flash, he’s gone. So if someone comes into our front door, he takes advantage of that and takes off. Now, he can’t get far! AND this looks lovely! That lower area in front, that is for a planter box…for more flowers! Yup, this looks NOTHING like the house we bought exactly 9 months ago today…and I couldn’t be more THRILLED!!!
July 14, 2025 – The photos I promised last night! This is a bunch of photos from yesterday, lots of close-ups, lots of progress pictures, and a few comments where needed. These were selected out a huge group of photos I took.
July 13, 2025 – Ok, more photos! First, I have an updated photo from the one below (and will have another one later in the week)! Then, we had an “event” happen yesterday. I was in the backyard while Zoey was brushing Maisie for me, and her dad Gregg came in and right away noticed something I had totally missed though we were sitting about 4′ away: the neighbor’s tree had fallen over our shed! I told Pete, and within minutes – seriously, like 5 minutes! – several neighbors were here cutting the branches so we could get to the shed and in preparation for cutting down the rest of it. WOW! GREAT NEIGHBORS!! Which we already knew, we live in the BEST spot in the county I am sure of that! Anyway…the remainder of this set of photos tell that tale.
I also have quite a few photos that I took this evening, mainly close-ups, of my plants. I was delightfully surprised and excited to see some new changes that I can’t wait to share with you! But I’m pretty done in for tonight so it will have to wait until tomorrow…sorry…

July 4, 2025 – This month, though also doing a few things around the yard and garden, we are concentrating our efforts on Gloria’s face. That end, here are a before-and-after photo of the painting we had done! The top photo is from last year, when we were buying her; the bottom is from today with her new brown porch and shutters. I chose brown because of what is to come; I didn’t want the “clash” of blue, but rather the more subtle background of brown and tan. The painters are Zoey and her dad Greg, who have been helping out around with several tasks, and will be doing more! (When everything is complete I will give credit where credit is due, as there have been multiple people helping with this project!)
July 1, 2025 – It’s been a while eh? A lot of changes around here too…if you follow my main page you already know on June 11 I had an accident; in that accident I suffered a concussion which is now post concussion syndrome. It is my 2nd TBI (traumatic brain injury – the stroke being the first) and has affected my life in a big way, and my activities of all kinds have been extremely limited. But because I am starting to push those limits a bit, I am starting to add a little content each day to my sites – hence this video! I haven’t done anything in bringing all of what you are about to see to pass, but thanks to family and friends it is happening while I’m trying to recover. I hope that you enjoy seeing these changes, and there are going to be lots more as the season, and year, progresses!
June 10, 2025 – Bill from Billhilly Homestead Solutions has been working on making me some beds for my vegetables and herbs, and this is the result, as of today when he finished…WOW!! They look GREAT and are sturdy and beautiful…the cedar really looks lovely (especially when it’s wet) in the yard…I am absolutely THRILLED with the result and so happy!!! And I love the special touch of the post out the back of the front beds so I could hang my lighted beehive solar wind chimes, making it attractive from the rear as well as the front! Just one of those special touches❣️
June 6, 2025 – How things are growing:
I planted the seeds in these photos on June 2. The top photo shows a baby radish with 2 tiny leaves on June 5. The bottom photo is 24 hours later – whoa! You see the radishes going crazy, plus a pea plant peeking out, and a cucumber!! They’ll be replanted as soon as the raised beds are finished.
In the center photo are some delicate tiny white flower that are probably a weed, but are very pretty and would make a lovely ground cover for that spot; I am looking for a ground cover anyway.
In the right-hand photo is my poor cherry tree. This is a grafted tree, and it now appear to me that one of the grafted branches as well as the main vertical branch are dying since the totally brown and crispy leaves are all that is left. There are still fresh-feeling green leaves on the other grafted branch though, and some green in the lower trunk when I scratch the surface. At this point I don’t care how big the tree gets, or how many cherries it may eventually produce – I just want it to live.

This is a video and some photos from the next day, when J&E spent most of the day with us. First they planted the grasses, shrubs, and tree that had been delivered a few days earlier, then we all went shopping at Begick’s Nursery in Bay City, MI and I chose a whole lotta plants! There are photos of the plants after they got home, the potted plant arrangements Emma made up following my vision perfectly, and where they planted everything for me…it was a very long day BUT the yard is now looking even BETTER than I’d imagined it and I can’t tell you how thankful and thrilled I am about it! Watching my new flora family grow and flourish is what I’ve been waiting all winter for. Between yesterday and today our yard went from being neat and tidy but boring, to neat and tidy and colorful! This is all a really Big Deal for me, I hope you can appreciate the changes too :).

My new plants arrived on Friday – in boxes! So I couldn’t show you. Yesterday Leelan and Charlie unboxed them and set them up outside but I wasn’t quite up for walking back to them yet – today I was though, and Maisie and I will show them to you…k? (It is good to know she still knows the step-stop-sit-stay command sequence, it actually comes in handy a lot, not just when showing you my new shrubs and tree!)
It is unfortunate that one of the branches on the hydrangea shrub was laying on the ground, I picked it up and stuck the end into the dirt, hopefully it will survive until Emma gets here and tells me what to do, maybe it will make a new bush? I dunno…but they all arrived in good shape and with instruction sheets for each one emailed to me – very excited to get them in the ground!

Well I’ve gone and done it now! My friend Heidi sent me something from a company I think she uses and I ordered some stuff… So here is a collage of the things that I have coming, plus one that’s already here and just waiting to be put up, with the names/comments below.
The gazebo, top center, is here and will be put up soon. (Ocean not included.)
Top left is a vanilla strawberry hydrangea shrub and I am planning that to be pretty much front and center in the front. It apparently attracts butterflies, hummingbirds, and pollinators so we can watch without disturbing them, and I can put flowers around it.
Top right are cherries. I ordered a 3-in-1 cherry tree because it sounds interesting, and because the grands voted for a cherry tree in our yard and who am I to argue? 🤷♀️
Bottom: left is a pieris mountain fire plant, center is Shenandoah switch grass, right is red twig dogwood. I’m not 100% sure where I’ll put these last 3, but I want one at the front corner of the house, one that will soften our view of the neighbor’s garage, and one to add interest/dimension to the 2 yellow bushes already in the front. Everything will depend on the gazebo going up.
(And nobody is saying I’m done buying stuff hahaha)

Well THIS wasn’t planned today!
The night before last I was thinking of how dark and heavy the living room looked…and I realized that the big round table I had in here was too too big, too too dark, and too too heavy for the space. I was contemplating this revelation when I realized that the table runner Heidi had recently sent me needed a TABLE! A quick prayer was said, then this morning I awoke with the urge to go to FB Marketplace. (I don’t use FB but Pete lets me look at Marketplace on his account.) And guess what was RIGHT THERE! An hour later it was coming home with us!
Not only does it better match the aesthetic in our living room, but it is stable – the pedestal table was tippy and yes, drinks have been spilled as a result. The little bench seats underneath are out of the way, but will be perfect for the girls when they are eating there. In addition, they will make great little last-minute side tables when needed! I couldn’t be more thrilled!

We’ve made a few little changes here in Gloria this week! First, my friend Heidi sent me this GORGEOUS owl table runner! It is reversible too, darker on the other side…I love it on the table OR my keyboard! Then we had to replace the pink rug as it was ruined; I was not really a fan of the color anyway. This rug is larger, extremely soft, and I like the way it has all the shades of grays and tans in it! (We have to keep rugs down because Maisie slides around on the floors, her feet go out from under her, etc.) Finally, Pete got himself a little decoration for his ham shack when we were at a flea market last week – how fun is that!

Not much has been going on for the last couple of weeks, but a few days ago Emma and I put together a plan for Gloria’s yard. I knew the features I wanted, and I had a general idea of where most of them would go, but was having a hard time seeing the whole picture. Besides helping me with that, she had some fantastic ideas to putting it all together. In this video, Maisie and I do a “stroll’n’sniff” around the area and I point out the highlights of our plans!

On Feb 27th our helpers were here and I mentioned to Emma that I’d begun thinking about how to rearrange Gloria’s living room the next time. Long story short, a few hours later and it was done! Not expecting to do it that day, it just happened and it was fun and it is great! But it had been about 6 weeks, so I guess it was due… This time was a lot different, and once again we’re enjoying it! Here are some photos:

There are a couple of things that needed to be fixed. One is that, in spite of curtains, furniture, and rugs, this house is STILL loud! Everything echoes. There are no secrets. So I’m adding fabric anywhere and everywhere I can. Also, with the PoiBoiz getting more adventurous, they are flying into our bedroom and the bathroom. Since Maisie – who is terrified of the birds since Elliot nailed her ear a few months ago – uses the bedroom for her safe space when they are out, I didn’t think it was fair to let the boiz chase her in there, and needed a way to keep them out without locking Maisie in. Below is how I solved both things.
The curtains are extremely sheer, with embroidered green leaves on them, picking up on the leafy vine I have hanging around my kitchen window in lieu of a curtain. I didn’t want to block the light from the back door, and as you can see in the first 2 photos, they don’t. The third photo was taken near the back door and you can see the living room window through them also. Normally they are tucked behind holdbacks on each side of course, but when the birds are out, they are down.

And yup, we did some tweaks! After spending an evening and a morning in our “new” room, we found a few things that would work better for us if they were a little different. It didn’t take long to make the changes, and I took a video to share with you what they were. And now we both LOVE LOVE LOVE this room, and how perfectly it works for us! Of course, I will change it again – and again – but right now this arrangement is FAB!

Today our helpers were here. In every house I have ever owned I have rearranged the furniture frequently. Not only does it help with wear and tear in traffic areas and bleaching on pieces that are exposed to the sun continuously, but the rooms also get a good cleaning each time. It wasn’t always possible living in RVs over the last 9½ years, but now that we are in a house again, it took less than 3 months for the itch to return! So during the days I was sick this week I started thinking about it and rearranging things in my mind, and today Emma made my final choices reality! Below are the “after” photos of Emma’s work, though as I look around and start living in the space I see where I’ll make a few tweaks but the furniture is where I want it to be – for now (hahaha) – and when I do make those tweaks I will share them with you here.

We took some time off from changing or adding many things during December, but today we were back at it. We had a few problems to resolve: one is that Maisie has been sliding on this floor all the time. I keep her nails trimmed back but where she has to turn corners or jump on or off of furniture her legs slide out from under her. Now that she’s getting older (8) I don’t want her to have joint issues or even break something. So we needed some more floor coverings to help her. Another problem is how LOUD this house is! Sound bounces all around and echoes, making phone calls difficult for others to hear, and just being very annoying. Every little sound can be heard throughout the house as if it is right next to us. (You remember we have parrots, right?) Lastly, the girls have worked so hard on their room, and done such a great job, that having our stored stuff stacked in the open closet along one whole wall was awful. So below are some photos of the changes we’ve made so far this month to resolve these, and a couple of other, things.
I fall quite a bit anymore, and getting in and out of the tub/shower has been pretty darned scary! This Wonder Pole bolts into the floor and to the ceiling; the grab handles are super-sturdy!
I also do our laundry in the bathtub, hence the hangers on the pole hahaha! The orange cable along the floor is what powers the washing machine, when I am using it.
Our bathroom is a multi-purpose room!
Finally we hung up some shiny gold curtains over the closet in the girls’ room. The colors they chose for their room are pink, white, and gold. (You can see the rest of the room below.) I thought the gold would add more glam to the room.
They are in the process of getting more stuffies. They each have an axolotl that they found and love, the perfect size for curling up with or cuddling (almost as big as Luna!)…and they have BIG stuffies too! The box in the corner holds Luna’s, which arrived a few days ago; Lyra’s will be here in a few days – it’s taking a while to get here as it shipped from overseas.

I have a few pictures from the last few days showing some changes we’ve made, mostly. The biggest thing is that my gorgeous, long-awaited “statement piece” came in and Pete got it hung up…and I LOVE it!!!
We had this little plug-in night light for a long time but didn’t use it much. Then Jared plugged it in at the top of our front wall, and it is so bright that it lights up the whole room – as you can see in the photo on the right – the kitchen, and all the way to the back door! Because it has an eyeball, it knows to turn itself on when it starts getting dark in here. No more do we have to worry when we’re not home about the animals being left in the dark if we forget to turn on any lamps, and during the night or early morning hours we can do things out in the living room without disturbing the PoiBoiz with additional lights on!
Then, in our bedroom we hadn’t had a working TV; often at night I like to watch crafting videos to help me sleep. (The only thing I’d find more tedious would be golfing videos hahaha.) And our clock, sitting on the desk, was too low to see from the bed. One night I when I went to bed I saw that Pete had cleared off the desktop and put a little 2-step riser that we weren’t using there, with the clock on the bottom and the TV on the top! (I use the Dyson fan to sleep also, it was already there.) AND he hung the photo of my family on the wall. BEAUTIFUL!! Makes me very happy!
And finally, my beautiful 36″ clock! It took several weeks to arrive once I’d ordered it, but I was willing to wait. It draws the colors out of the curtains, with the wavy vertical “stripes” it blends in very well with the pattern also. AND it subtly adds a few more colors to the room as well! All of the color in the room was at the front and east end; with this sensational statement piece it balances the colors to the other end and back wall…I just LOVE it! Absolutely fabulous, and immediately draws the eye whenever anyone walks through the front door. Definitely the wow factor!

Yesterday Pete and I went thrifting, one of the things I bought was a brown sheet to go over my day bed in the living so it would kinda match his chair. So you will see that below…also, I did some rearranging of the “stuff” under and around the PoiBoiz cages so I snapped a couple of pictures of that corner. There is a heavy plaster gray-and-white striped box that I added there as well, that is holding Maisie’s toys as they’re always in the way and my walker can’t navigate over them so when I “hit” one I come to a sudden stop – most uncomfortable! Anyway, I think that corner looks MUCH tidier now and less cluttered than what you can see in previous pictures!

On Nov 26 son-in-law Bill – who is brilliant with such things – came in the morning to put together the girls’ bunk beds, then in the afternoon he built Pete his COOL shed for Pete’s tall stuff: antenna parts, fishing poles, and the like. PERFECT! There is extra room in there for his lawn tools and such as well, and now all of Pete’s stuff is in out of the weather! We love it!
On Nov 27 Jared and Emma came to help with the “finishing touches” for the projects we were working on. In the bedroom, we had gotten a new quilt for our bed, and I had found a sheer green curtain panel as I was unpacking totes, so here are some picture of the quite – which Pete chose – with the curtains.
The bed is really high, so as to fit large totes underneath for storage. We chose a king-size quilt and it does a great job of hiding the totes from sight! (BTW, Pete did clear off his surfaces once Emma and I finished making the bed and got out of his way!)
After Thanksgiving dinner at their house, the grandkids came here to spend the weekend. The “spare” bedroom is being made into a lovely space for the girls, ages 5 and 10 (courtesy of a generous “interested party”). Bill had set up the bed a couple of days earlier, and we had the mattresses airing out in Myrtle. Emma had helped me move things into place for them – they won’t have the entire room because we need part of it for storage, but will have most of it by the time we’re done unpacking – and on Saturday the girls and I did some shopping! They got to choose all of their decor and needs, colors, styles, etc. and worked extremely well together on the big project the rest of the day! Below are the results so far, as there are still a few little things we will have to buy online that we couldn’t find locally. But that was a great, fun day!
There will still be a few more changes this month, but for the most part we will be taking a break until next year; we just want to enjoy the fruits of our labors for now! Any of the changes we DO make (like my BIG STATEMENT DECOR PIECE!) will be shared here of course…we’ll see you then!

We needed more storage in the bathroom. As you can see in other photos, what we have is limited to a single 24″ vanity, plus some corner shelves in a corner that are more for decorative purposes than storage. I was planning to buy a larger vanity that has drawers in addition to the under-sink cupboard, but in the future we plan to re-do the bathroom anyway, replacing the tub with a roll-in shower, and updating the floor and throne. So instead of spending $500+ on a new vanity at this time, I ordered a rolling cart for under $50 that fits beautifully in the corner next to the sink! Though it appeared small once Pete got it set up, it holds the contents of TWO boxes! Thrilled with it! And it even has a handle that I can use for a hand towel!

While we’re not ready to actually do anything major with the back of the house yet, I did want to cozy it up a little bit. So I picked up a few things yesterday from Ollie’s and, for very little money, added some color and bling! Now Gloria has sort of a “business in the front, party in the back” look!
The room is just too small to get a good photo, I’d have to close the door which hides half the bathtub area, and I can’t back far enough away…but you get the idea, I hope!
At some point we will be replacing the bathtub with a roll-in shower. I don’t know when, but we likely won’t make any other big changes in there until we’re ready to do that, other than replacing the vanity, sink, and fixtures.

We’ve had quite a few days where we couldn’t accomplish anything for various reasons, so there was nothing to update. We did get the spare room mostly cleared out so that we could finish getting everything out of Myrtle when we had help. That happened yesterday, and she is totally empty. I also ordered a free-standing pantry because so many of our kitchen cupboards are impractical or barely usable for our purposes. This video catches you up on the things we’ve accomplished, mostly in the last 24 hours. But it isn’t exactly current…after I made this video a few hours ago, we made some rather big changes in the kitchen…I will try to get photos tomorrow. BUT, as of this afternoon, here is how Gloria is shaping up…and we love her!

This morning I set out our new lamps and loved how they look. The brushed nickel finish and smooth shape – same as the curtain hardware and kitchen cabinet hardware – has a contemporary clean look. I’ve never gone for that style in my life, ever. But it seems to fit with the style of the house and paint. The shimmery curtains add to the look as well. But the warm colors and soft textures that I am incorporating are totally cozying it up! I have one more BIG purchase I will be making for the living room, it is a stunning and almost shocking piece that will make a big statement. I can’t get it this month. But I certainly will be doing so next month and it will be amazing, I just know it! But I was talking about the lamps I bought…below is a before (before light bulbs and setting them up) and after (all lit up after dark) comparison. And I think they were the perfect choice in here. This video shows a bunch of the changes that we have made around here, but especially my gorgeous curtains…they are light and shimmery and absolutely gorgeous! You won’t be able to tell just how gorgeous they are until the last part of the video.
Speaking of the last part of the video: I have no idea why the orientation is messed up, and I’m sorry about that. But just not up for figuring it out.
We accomplished SO MUCH today! With a little help from Pete I emptied 7 totes and 2 boxes, reorganized the kitchen to a more workable situation, then got all of my own things put away and organized in the bedroom. I also did quite a bit of cleaning. I took breaks, and sat on my walker to do most of it. Pete spent the day working on his radio office. Those photos, with his notations, are below. It was an exceedingly busy but also productive day!

– Shelf 4: Ham Reference Books; KJV Study Bibles; 2 HF Radios
– Shelf 5: Power Supply; ICOM 7300 HF Radio; 2 VHF/UHF Radios; Tablet; Lamp and my ICOM 51A Plus 2 handheld for VHF/UHF and D Star, and will also be my ACTIVE equipment once connected to antennas
– Under the Desk are boxes radios came in.

Gloria came with a little laundry “closet” – about the size of a good walk-in closet – with a stackable washer and dryer which I didn’t care for or want. BUT Pete wanted that space for his ham “shack”! So J&E took the washer & dryer out and discovered that the water shutoff didn’t. Shut off I mean. Jared routed the hose into the drain as a temporary measure until we could get a plumber out here. The plumber came today and that is fixed. So now Pete can move his ham stuff out of the kitchen and set up his stuff just like he wants it! He’ll need shelves and stuff so I guess we’ll be going shopping, I’m so excited for him! That spot is perfect, he won’t have to cut holes in the walls and can use the dryer vent to run his antenna wires up to his antenna which, perfectly enough, can attach to the satellite dish frame directly above! So he’s pretty excited, and I love seeing him being able to put his plans in action!
Today we will also have get some rugs, as Maisie is struggling with these floors and slipping. But shopping is fun…right?

Leaving The Country – GLORIA!
For the time being I will share about this here, on my own site, only. I was going to type a post to start this page, but it was easier to explain in a video. So here it my face talking to fill you in on what has been going on in our lives for the last couple of months, and what the future will hold for us. I plan to share a LOT, and will leave a message (similar to when I update my health page, using the divider image I use on Gloria’s page) on my chat when I add anything to this page. If you have questions – this may seem sudden to most of you – you can always drop me a note and I will do my best to answer. But this video will explain everything. I think.

I couldn’t find any photos or video that I took after I got the living room arranged, so I took this clip from a Marco Polo that I had sent to Casey (daughter) & Gwen (sister). It’s what I’ve got for the moment. Yesterday was a rough day, physically, emotionally, and mentally, I’m not gonna lie! So it’s no surprise that I don’t have any media today. But at least I have this – YAY! – to share with you! And I will be more diligent about such things in the future ?

On Monday the 28th I had an early doctor’s appointment so we had a later start. In the afternoon we gathered up everything for the animals (or so we thought!) and everything I might need at the house, along with a few other things, then we put the dogs and parrots in the car, and headed for the city. Pete drove HoWie this time, and we followed him. (See the video above.) Once we got the animals settled in and stuff unloaded, Pete & I went out to pick up a couple of things and also to eat before we left to go back to Myrtle for the night. And these are the photos I took.

We had spent most of the day with J&E, Casey, and the grands packing up stuff that couldn’t travel safely in Myrtle, and working on taking down the fencing and the tent shelter to load on a trailer that Bill let us use. (He had to work that day.) In the end we learned we could “borrow” Leelan for unloading, and so made an evening trip to Gloria. (He was AMAZING by the way – had everything offloaded in about 20 minutes!) These photos are from that evening.

We packed up and moved a bunch of stuff today, but the best thing of all was spending time with our family; daughter Casey, son-in-law Bill, and the grandkids all came to Gloria to help. The girls (ages 5 and 10) had been out trunk or treating and we got to try on part of a costume. It was a fun time.
After the work we all had supper together we went to the farm supply company where Bill works (conveniently right next door to the restaurant!) where he told me he thought they had something perfect for Gloria’s kitchen – and it WAS! Though it was a “tool chest” it has a butcher block top, electrical outlets for my appliances, and the instant I saw it, I “saw” in my mind where I will put everything, and angels sang ?…PLUS it was on sale! PLUS we got Bill’s discount! I will take/share (a) photo(s) the next time we go out there, which I believe will be tomorrow, when I also will be ordering my window treatments for the living room, and a storm door for the front, all of which we can pick up locally at Lowe’s when they come in!
